SESSION DATES
8/6-11/19 | Weekly or Biweekly
WEEKLY VS BIWEEKLY
Weekly shares are best for medium sized households that cook regularly and eat a vegetable forward diet.
Biweekly shares are best for smaller households and individuals who want less vegetables. This share contains the same amount of produce as weekly shares but pickups occur every other week.
COST
Full Season Weekly Shares | $800
Full Season Biweekly Shares | $400
Pay in full or by the month: cash, checks, credit, ach, ebt/snap.
FARM INVESTMENT
The $50 per week standard share value includes $45 worth of vegetables and a $5 direct investment in Mavourneen Farm. Our new pricing structure honors the foundational intention of the community supported agriculture movement, meant to connect farmers and eaters in sharing the risks and rewards of food production.
We appreciate your solidarity in working together to sustain our farm and a viable local food system in Monroe County.
QUANTITY
At each distribution, members will receive 7-10 vegetable items, most harvested the day of or day before distribution.
QUALITY & STORAGE
We strive to produce extremely high quality, beautiful, nutrient dense food. Since our vegetables are harvested and distributed at peak freshness, most items should have a shelf life of 7-14 days or more, if kept according to ideal storage directions.
CROPS
Our goal is to include a well rounded mix of the following categories each week, as they are seasonally available, for a variety of flavors and meal options:
-Leafy Greens: arugula, asian greens, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, escarole, frisée, kale, lettuce, radicchio, salad mixes, spinach
-Herbs: basil, cilantro, celery, dill, fennel, ginger, parsley, turmeric
-Alliums: garlic, leeks, onions, scallions
-Summer Fruit: cucumbers, eggplant, sweet & hot peppers, tomatoes, zucchini,
-Roots & Tubers: beets, carrots, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, turnips, winter squash
SEASONAL VARIATION
While we grow over 35 different crops, and many different varieties within this, availability will vary across the seasons. August through September will include an abundance of summer fruiting crops like tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and eggplant. As we move into fall, there will be lots of greens and the arrival of storage crops like carrots and potatoes.
NO GUARANTEES
Note that there may be crop losses throughout the year that are beyond our control, so we do not guarantee the availability of every item planned for production. CSA members agree to share in the risks inherent to farming.
