A CSH is like a CSA but instead of fruits and vegetables (the 'agriculture' is CSA) you're getting herbal products! Similar to a CSA, your membership directly supports small farms, herbalists, and community wellness. Two Bears Farmstead and Bear Woman Wisdom, creator of the Bear Woman Medicinals apothecary line, have teamed up to offer a seasonal CSH membership/subscription. Our first offering is the 2023 Winter Wellness Remedies Package, which is a collection of one-time made-to-order herbal products to help support you and your family during this Cold & Flu Season.
Unlike a traditional CSA where you get weekly packages of produce, a CSH most often works seasonally. Joining our Winter Wellness Remedies CSH gets you a one-time package of multiple seasonally-appropriate herbal products, hand-crafted in small batches at our farm-apothecary utilizing high-quality, organically-grown or ethically wildcrafted, and some local ingredients (supporting other local farms!). If you join our Yearly Herbal Wellness CSH Membership you would get an herbal package each Season/quarter for the year.
Since many of our traditional Winter Wellness Remedies have a shorter shelf-life than other herbal products, we take CSH membership payments (which act as pre-orders), and then make-to-order our batch for the season. Typically our products are ready within a month of the initial enrollment period, and we cap our enrollment at 10 people because products are limited.
**This year's Winter Wellness Remedies CSH will include the following products:
>> 1 oz. wt. Cold & Flu // Sleepy Time Herbal Tea Blend {a tasty, floral beverage tea blend that helps with congestion, fever, and relaxing to go to sleep when feeling under the weather}
>> 4 fl. oz. Goldenrod-Infused Honey {Wildcrafted Goldenrod infused in raw local honey helps support our sinuses and Upper Respiratory Tract, colds, bronchitis, allergies, our GI and our skin}
>> 2 fl. oz. Elderberry-Echinacea Elixir {like traditional syrup with a longer shelf-life, this potenized version has a greater immune system boost and is dosed more like a tincture; best to be taken at first exposure to someone sick and to help shorten duration of viral infections}
>> 8 fl. oz. Fire Cider Oxymel {like traditional Fire Cider but tastier and with a longer shelf-life, this potenized version is a house-blend of traditional recipes including warming, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, respiratory-supporting, immune-supporting veg + herbs taken as an immunity tonic or as-needed after exposure or first signs of feeling under the weather}
>> DIY Cough Syrup Kit {a make-it-yourself kit for an herbal cough syrup with dry ingredients + directions for use}
Once our Winter Wellness Remedies are ready for pick-up, we will alert all Members to the pick-up date and location (in Jacksonville, NC). *We are only enrolling LOCAL members, as we cannot ship our fresh liquid products at this time*
**PLEASE NOTE: This Winter Wellness Remedies CSH Membership is for --one season/one quarter-- only. If you are interested in a *full year* membership (providing four quarterly packages), please look at our Yearly Herbal Wellness CSH listing! Our products change from season to season and year to year based on supply availability and new remedy formulation, or old remedy re-formulations.

We specialize in growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, microgreens, medicinals, pasture-raised duck eggs, raw goat's milk, and hand-crafted homegoods. We are also involved with local Mutual Aid projects and provide in-person and online courses, classes, and workshops on topics from raw dairy and fermentation to herbalism.
