Calico Aster plant in a 3" pot. Native perenial grows to be 2 tall. Plant in full sun or partial shade. Calico asters (Symphyotrichum lateriflorum) produce loose clusters of multiple flowering heads which are found concentrated mainly on one side of the widely spreading branches. Like most Asters, it attracts a variety of insects but it has shorter nectar tubes. The species gets its common name from the variety of colors of its blossoms' central disks.
