Rainbow chard is a beautful leafy green. Chard has a mild and tender sweetness when cooked. Stalks are edible, too! It is a great plant to grow spring through fall. Grows well in a container or in the ground. If container planting, it would like a 1-3 gallon pot. If planting in the ground, plant 12" away from other plants in good soil, adding compost before planting for best results. Harvest largest leaves over the entire season. If leaving your kale in the garden all season, feed it with organic fertilizer at least once a month. Will tolerate light shade. Harden off and plant or move outside after nighttime temperatures are consistently above freezing.
