Description
Easily the most request vegetable at the farmers markets. Broccolini is a hybrid of broccoli and gai lan. This variety has uniform, vigorous, dark green plants that produce jumbo-size florets that resemble mini heads of broccoli, and have an excellent sweet broccoli flavor.
We like to harvest it when the flowers start opening - all of it is edible.

Production method
We are not certified organic; however, our practices are aligned with both regenerative and organic practices. Specific practices include growing perennial plants and diverse crops, cover cropping and crop rotation, testing soil and using compost with necessary soil amendments, low-tilling, and using Integrated Pest Management strategies. All vegetables are started from seed, and those seeds are either organic or untreated. We do not utilize pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, including those allowed by organic standards.

Switch Gears Farm is a small-scale farm operated by Brett and Vanita, located in Longmont, Colorado. We primarily focus on growing high-quality produce and soil health, meaning we do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.
We sell produce and plant starts directly to individuals through a CSA program and at farmers markets (City Park Farmers Market on Saturdays and Lafayette Farmers Market on Sundays). In addition, we sell produce to local organizations, including food hubs, non-profits, restaurants, and schools.
