This 18 week Summer CSA highlights the diversity of vegetables that can be grown in our region! Start with June strawberries and fresh greens, enjoy summer classics like zucchini and tomatoes, keep your pantry well-stocked with onions and garlic, and cruise into fall with winter squash, potatoes, cabbage, and sweet greens. Each week choose (on average) 9 items to take home. Stock up on veggies you love, and skip the ones you don’t! We want you to eat your vegetables!
A pick-your-own vegetable is offered most weeks! We open our fields to CSA members to pick family favorites like sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes, and sweet lunch box peppers.
CSA Members pick up shares at the Small Farm store on Wednesdays 12:00-6:00 or Saturdays 10:00 and 5:00 for 18 weeks of a 20 week summer CSA season.
Example of one week’s share in June (choose 8 of the following items, double up if you like):
1 head of lettuce, 2 salad cucumbers, 3 zucchini/summer squash, 1 bunch of scallions, 1 bunch of beets, 10 garlic scapes, 1 bag of arugula, 1 pint of pick-your-own sugar snap peas, 1 bunch of pick-your-own herbs (Italian and Thai basil, cilantro, mint, parsley available)
Please Note!
The season begins with fewer items in the share. As the weather and ground warms up, a wider variety of vegetables become available.
Example of one week’s share in August (choose 9 of the following items, double up on any if you want to skip more!):
4 tomatoes, 3 zucchini, 1 head of lettuce, 1 bunch of kale, 2 salad cucumbers, 1 pound of carrots, 4 green bell peppers, 1 bunch of scallions, 1/2 pint pick-your-own husk cherries, 1 pint pick-your-own cherry tomatoes, 1 pint pick-your-own lunchbox sweet peppers OR jalapeno peppers, 1 bunch of pick-your-own herbs (Thai basil, parsley, thyme, savory available)
All items in the share are certified organic. Some vegetables may be sourced from other local farms to improve variety!
If you are unable to pick up your share for a week, you can change your pick up day for the week (Wednesday or Saturday), schedule one of your two vacation weeks (to be made up in October), ask a friend to pick up for you, email farmer@small-farm.com to arrange pick up on the following Monday, or donate your share to the Boston Area Gleaners.
Important: To split a share, please include the name and email address of the other household that will be picking up in the Notes section at checkout! We will email them, asking them to make a Grownby account, so that they will receive all the same reminder emails as the original purchaser.
