This is mill-prepped (washed, carded, drafted) huacaya alpaca fiber ready for hand spinning or felting. It's from one of our alpacas, Lady, who we rescued from a meat goat auction. Lady is Deaf, and she was scrawny and maybe had never been sheared before! We're not sure how she had survived summers. She's doing much better now. The mill we used for this is a mini-mill in Oklahoma. They don't use harsh scouring chemicals so there is a little vegetable matter here and there.
