Mushrooms: Black Pearl Oyster
Description
Freshly harvested Black Pearl Oyster mushrooms! These mushrooms are a hybrid between Blue Oyster & King Trumpet mushrooms, with a rich umami flavor and firm, meaty texture that's retained under high heat. Uses: Mini-scallops: Slice stalk into small scallops, score with fork, sear & sauté in lemon juice/white wine, garlic, and butter. Pulled ‘pork’: Finely shred stalk with a fork, marinate, and sauté or roast to use as a pulled “pork” substitute. Grill/Roast: Rip individual mushrooms in half lengthwise, marinate, & grill/roast – tastes like chicken & portobellos! We add surcharges to credit card payments to cover processing fees. To avoid these fees, you can pay with cash when you pick up your order. To do so, just send us an email (RunningRootsFarmNY@gmail.com) with what you'd like, and we'll have it ready for you on Sunday! (GrownBy has unfortunately removed the "pay offline" option). If we have low availability, we may substitute with Blue Oyster or King Trumpets.
