One pie pumpkin. These pumpkins are best used for making homemade puree. Simply cut the pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds (you can roast them separately - yum!), and place face-down on a cookie sheet with a bit of water in the bottom of the pan. Bake at 350 for about an hour, or when the pumpkin skin is easily pierced with a fork. Allow the pumpkin to cool, then scoop out the flesh, and you've got homemade puree! So delicious and much more flavorful than store-bought. Puree can be used immediately or frozen for later.
