Pint size pot. Native perennial. Purple Violets (also called Common Blue Violet) are a lovely low growing ground cover that is one of the first signs of spring. They provide an early nectar source for bees and other pollinators. It is also one of the host plants for multiple types of fritillary butterflies. The flowers and young leaves of the common violet are edible - they taste great! We eat them every spring. They thrive in shade and partial shade, but we also have them in full sun as well.
