Variety description from Sow True Seed:
"Gayfeather is an Eastern US native wildflower with elegant, slender leaves that sends up showy, bright purple flower stalks in mid to late summer. It grows naturally in wet soils near streams and in marshy areas, but will do well in a typical well-drained garden as well. This is a wonderful plant to support your local native bee population! Plants can grow in both full sun and partial shade."
