Ocimum spp.
Features:
-Annual
-Heirloom from Thailand
-Attracts bees when flowering
-Recommended for outdoor growing in a container or in the ground, or indoor growing with plenty of light
-Comes in a biodegradable pot
We grow our plants from seed, start them indoors, and move them outside to the shade to acclimate to the weather.
To transplant, dig a hole a bit larger than the biodegradable pot, tear the pot in a few places, and bury the the root ball (including the pot) in the hole. You may also choose to add a bit of compost or worm castings into the hole before adding the plant. Water in thoroughly. (If growing indoors, remove the plant from the biodegradable pot and plant in a good potting mix for container gardens or houseplants.)
Variety description from Truelove Seeds:
"Intensely aromatic, slightly spicy holy basil used in Thai cooking, traditionally in dishes such as Pad Krapao. This branching, geometric and narrow-leaved holy basil makes a low bush, reaching about 20" in height in our experience. Its distinct, clove-like aroma perfumed the air whenever we'd brush past it in the field. Sports handsome, deep fuschia to dark red stems and flower stalks, covered in tiny pink blooms and abundant green foliage. Thrives in heat and prefers full sun."
