Our flock of laying hens spends the warm months ranging around our pastures and woods in a custom mobile coop, and the winter in a spacious, light-filled "chicken greenhouse". But all good things come to an end, and when our laying hens have reached the end of their productive time, we have them processed and packaged at a USDA-inspected facility. These birds are great for soups and stews, but are not appropriate for roasting or grilling (if that's what you're looking for, check out our broiler chickens).
