Red oak are a relatively fast-growing tree popular in landscaping. A 10 year old tree grown in full sun can reach 26 feet. In late spring they produce yellow catkins (don't park your car under one if you can help it!) and in fall they turn a brilliant orange-red. These seeds sourced from our own red Pin Oak trees. Red oak require multiple trees for pollination and readily hybridize. They do best planted in well-drained, loamy soil with a neutral pH. Red oaks will mast every other year with an abundance of acorns that are attractive to wildlife.
