Self-fertile, for best yields plant multiple individuals.
Planting requirements: sandy, loamy, fertile, well-draining and somewhat acidic (pH4.5-6.5) soil, preferably on a slope for drainage. Chestnuts do not like wet feet. Avoid heavy clay soils. Full sun for maximum growth and production.
