"The Sampler" (Small) - On-Farm Pickup
Description
"The Sampler" members receive vegetables for 18 weeks at a total savings of 15%. Members can select their own produce each week, and they have the opportunity to order their share online in advance if they choose, using GrownBy. This ensures that members have the first opportunity to reserve items that are in high demand, such as salad mix and cherry tomatoes. Share pickup will occur on Wednesdays and Fridays this year, and members can pick up their share on whichever day works best for them in a given week. Produce in our crop plan this year includes arugula, basil, beets, cabbage, carrots, chard, cilantro, collards, cucumbers, dill, eggplant, fennel, garlic scapes, garlic, green beans, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, napa cabbage, onions, pac choi, parsley, peppers (sweet and hot), potatoes, radishes, scallions, strawberries, sugar snap peas, summer squash, spinach, tatsoi, tomatoes (heirloom, hybrid, paste, cherry), turnips, and zucchini.

Canticle Farm, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 2001 in Allegany, NY, by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany (FSA) as a ministry to the local community to provide fresh, healthy, locally grown food using sustainable farming methods without the use of synthetic or chemical applications. We have two locations: our original production farm at 3835 S. Nine Mile Road, and our market and community garden at 3809 Old State Road, directly across the Allegheny River from our original farm. Our philosophy is based on FSA’s concept of guidance through a justice-focused purpose using a model of land preservation that produces safe, naturally grown produce for all people. The Franciscan tradition is fully revealed in Canticle Farm’s symbiotic farming practices, stewardship and respect for land, and loving care for the health of the greater community’s citizens. All practices and operations of the farm are embodied in fulfilling the mission and providing for the food security and health of the area’s families, along with educational opportunities. We also donate produce to a wide variety of organizations engaged in alleviating food insecurity throughout Cattaraugus and Allegany counties in NY, and McKean County in PA, through our Franciscan Food Pantry Program, which is supported by grants and donations from religious groups and societies, local organizations, individuals and friends of the farm.
