About
Canticle Farm, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 2001 in Allegany, NY, by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany (FSA) as a ministry to the local community to provide fresh, healthy, locally grown food using sustainable farming methods without the use of synthetic or chemical applications. We have two locations: our original production farm at 3835 S. Nine Mile Road, and our market and community garden at 3809 Old State Road, directly across the Allegheny River from our original farm. Our philosophy is based on FSA’s concept of guidance through a justice-focused purpose using a model of land preservation that produces safe, naturally grown produce for all people. The Franciscan tradition is fully revealed in Canticle Farm’s symbiotic farming practices, stewardship and respect for land, and loving care for the health of the greater community’s citizens. All practices and operations of the farm are embodied in fulfilling the mission and providing for the food security and health of the area’s families, along with educational opportunities. We also donate produce to a wide variety of organizations engaged in alleviating food insecurity throughout Cattaraugus and Allegany counties in NY, and McKean County in PA, through our Franciscan Food Pantry Program, which is supported by grants and donations from religious groups and societies, local organizations, individuals and friends of the farm.

About CSA Share - Off-Farm Pickup Site
18 weeks of fresh vegetables
Our 2026 CSA program for off-farm pickup will run on Thursdays, from June 18 through October 15. We will coordinate deliveries to a host porch in Bradford, Olean, Portville, and Salamanca. In order to do each host porch, we need ten households per location. We will need one CSA member to offer to host the share deliver on their porch, and one CSA member to commit to picking up the shares each week for a $150 discount on their share price. Please contact us at office@canticlefarm.org if you are interested in either or both CSA member roles. Members will be able to choose their vegetables each week and place their order online through GrownBy.
