Bhūmiyinda (meaning ‘from the earth’ in Kannada) is a small farm filled with an abundance of diverse market gardens and polyculture orchards. We are committed to growing high quality food with sustainable growing practices. Everything on the farm is grown with ecological and low-till techniques, meaning that there are no chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers, no heavy machinery or deep tillage. As a very small farm (under an acre), a lot of thought and care is put into nourishing the soil and surrounding ecology to support the growth of abundant, healthy and delicious food. These practices allow us to farm intensively, feeding about 100 households for over seven months of the year, through a subscription-based Community Supported Agriculture Program.
